Slamdance (song)
"Slamdance" is the third single off JV's album, Loose Ends (EP). It features Hip-Hop and R&B artist eLi.j. The Empire mixtape promotional copy is on eLi.j's mixtape yet to be released to the public. Part of the recording session was changed during the second studio session in the end of 2009. The song officially released during the release of the Loose Ends (EP).
Music video
Due to lack of the artists support, the music video ceased production. A PROMOTIONAL COPY of eLi.j's version of the song has however been recorded and is set to premiere with the launch of eLi.j's Artist Development Project, release date has yet to be announced.
Trivia
It should be noted that extra INSTRUMENTS were modified on the songs final version of the chorus fitting it to a more "West Coast" than "Rock" audience.
Also, the album cover for the single and the Loose Ends (EP) PROMO was created and developed by eLi.j.
The song is notable for having references to an earlier 90's rap song titled "Slam" by Onyx. In fact, the song samples "Slam, da da da, da da da, LET THE BOYS BE BOYS!".
JV and eLi.j both represent Los Angeles, California residing from the suburban area Simi Valley also known as psrt of the "805".
