The Singapore Computer Society (Abbreviation: SCS; Chinese: 新加坡电脑学会), established since 1967, is the premier professional body for IT practitioners and IT users in Singapore.
Role
The Singapore Computer Society provides a wide range of events such as seminars and conferences, publications and access to an invaluable network of specialists. It also administers various certification programmes that offer individuals the avenue to gain recognition and career development. Today, having a membership of over 23 000, the SCS is the largest local IT body with membership representative of the IT community.
Besides the annual IT Leader Awards which are presented with the SCS Gala Dinner, we also organize the SCS Bowling Tournament, SCS Golf Day, IT Law Workshops and Members’ Networking and Movie Nights. IT Certifications
Certification in IT Project Management (CITPM)
The Certified IT Project Manager Programme (CITPM) is the most widely-recognised standard for IT project management competence and professionalism. It is designed for those who are involved in IT project management and wish to have their competencies assessed. The CITPM designation is recognized by IT project managers worldwide as a mark of quality.
The CITPM programme is supported by IDA and is:
*the world’s first IT project management certification
- the preferred criterion for evaluation of government IT projects and recruitment
- a certification aligned under National Infocomm Competency Framework
- under the Critical IT Resource Programme (CITREP) funding (up to 80% of certification fee can be claimed)
- accredited by NUS, NTU, ISS and SIM
Certification in Outsourcing Management for IT (COMIT)
The Certified Outsourcing Manager for IT Programme (COMIT) is set to be the widely-recognised standard for IT Outsourcing competence and professionalism. It is designed for those who are involved in IT Outsourcing and wish to have their competencies assessed. The COMIT designation will be recognised by IT outsourcing managers worldwide as a mark of quality. The COMIT programme is supported by IDA and is :
- the world’s first IT outsourcing certification
- the preferred criterion for evaluation of government IT projects
