Simon Bernhardt
Simon Bernhardt was born in Sydney, Australia in 1976 and educated at St. Andrew’s Cathedral School.
Bernhardt studied Arts and Media photography at the Sydney Institute of Technology. While studying he became a member of the Australian Commercial and Media Photographers (ACMP), which he is still a member of today.
Bernhardt first started his photographic career in Sydney working as a freelance photographic assistant for some of Australia’s top fashion and advertising photographers. Soon after Bernhardt began taking on his own photographic commissions.
Through his artistic flair, intense dedication for perfection and infectious quirky sense of humour, Bernhardt is well known for his special connection between camera and subject.
Bernhardt’s most inspiring moment as a photographer was meeting and photographing his Holiness the Dalai Liama, whose energy and presence has left a lasting impression on him.
Bernhardt’s work is regularly featured in numerous magazines, such as Hong Kong Cosmopolitan, Couture, Fashion Handbook, Jewellery, Sydney Wedding Fashion, and Hong Kong Tatler.
His work has also been published in ACB Beauty, Art of Cosmetic Beauty Australia and USA, Black & White Magazine, Celebrations, Good Weekend Magazine, Marie Claire, and 100k+ Magazine, amongst others.
Bernhardt has contributed to several group exhibitions in Sydney and Europe including ‘Wrapped in Plastic’, ‘Bernhardt Untitled’ and ‘Polaroid Holiday’.
He now works throughout Australia, Asia and Europe.
