Sid Nelson (basketball player)

Sid Nelson (born November 17, 1989) is an American professional basketball player. Currently a free agent. The 5-foot-7-inch point guard attended New Mexico State University. After leaving college, Nelson began his professional career playing for the Texas Rimrockers (formerly New Mexico Rimrockers) of the American Basketball Association (ABA).

High school career

Nelson Attended both Mt. Tahoma & Steilacoom High School in the state of Washington from 2004-2008, Where he excelled in both track and basketball. While at Mt. Tahoma high school in Tacoma, WA. Nelson competed against Cleveland Cavaliers guard Isaiah Thomas (basketball) of Curtis Senior High School in University Place, Washington.

College career

Nelson attended New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico from 2008-2011. During his junior year he was approached by Jonathan Bentley current owner of Baseline Sports Agency. Shortly after college he began his professional career playing for Bentley who was at the time, owner of the former New Mexico Rimrockers Play2Win.

Professional career

Nelson Professional career began with Rimrockers where he averaged 13.8 points per game. After departing from the Rimrockers. Nelson had, two brief stints with the NBA & its G League affiliates Reno Bighorns & the Bakersfield Jam formerly of the NBA D League. Nelson last played & worked out with the National Basketball League of Canada (NBL) in 2016.
