Sia Boss
Sia Boss was born on 28 December 1989 in Kono District, formerly known as Queen Da Boss is a Sierra Leone rapper, singer and songwriter, known for her mixture of hip hop and Roots reggae with lyrics in English and the Krio language. She was raised in Germany where her music career began. Sia who went by the stage name Queen Da Boss, released a statement to Salone Reporter late February 2012, she will go by her legal name.
Early life
Sia Boss on 28 December 1989 in Jaiama Nimikor, Kono District, Sierra Leone to parents from the Kono ethnic group. In Freetown, she attended the Freetown Secondary School for Girls. While in Germany, she attended Adolf Blankenhorn Secondary School and currently furthers her Education.
In 1998 she was adopted by a German man that married her mother. At the age of 14 in 2004 she moved to Germany along with her mother and her adopted father. she discovered her talent in music and started writing lyric and rapping. As time went on the dream and the spirit of music kept aside because Sia had no support from anyone, but she never gave her dream up.
Career
In 2006, she worked with different underground Artists and a well known Artist from the 90s Mpiece, who did the remaking of “GET DOWN ON IT”. They both worked and she recorded her first Album Where I'm From (Base On Roots) which prelaunched 26 October 2007. It was co-produced by Main Piece and Sia Boss. However the album wasn't very much successful to meet the Sierra Leonean taste of music. Boss was also featured 2006 in an African Movie "And the Kola nut Said No", viewed in the German Cinema (Freiburg Kommunales Kino). She later start her growing Label Gold House Records also known as Gold House Entertainment or Gold House Ent in 2010. She is one of the producers of Fame Works Production, a Sierra Leone movie production company. In February 2012, she announced her first executive produced film Secret Betrayal which premiered March 31, 2012.
