Shunra

Shunra Software, LLC is a privately held company that provides network virtualization solutions for software testing. Shunra offers software- and hardware-based products for the capture of network conditions, network virtualization and application performance analysis. Shunra's products are used to test and optimize the performance of applications delivered over Web, WAN, mobile or cloud networks.

Shunra has over 2500 customers globally, including 75 of the Fortune 100. The company is privately held and headquartered in Philadelphia, PA.

History

Founded in Israel in 1998, Shunra was a pioneer in creating a solution for emulating network conditions in the test environment. In 2004, Insight Venture Partners and Carmel Ventures both invested in Shunra. The company headquarters moved to Philadelphia in 2006, and current CEO, Gary Jackson, has been leading the company since 2010.

In 2012, Shunra announced an open integration platform for mobile app performance. As part of the platform, Shunra announced partnerships with HP, Jamo, SOASTA, Capgemini/Sogeti and Keynote DeviceAnywhere.

In October 2012, the company also announced a global distribution agreement with HP which placed two of Shunra's products on the HP commercial price list.

Virtualization

• Shunra NV Desktop - a Windows-based client/server network virtualization software solution.
• Shunra NV for Mobile - a network virtualization solution specifically designed for testing mobile app performance.
• Shunra NV for HP Software - a network virtualization solution integrated into HP LoadRunner and HP Performance Center.
• Shunra NV Appliances - Appliance-based network virtualization solutions that range from several 10/100 Ethernet interfaces to support for 10Gbit/s service interfaces and a switching capacity up to 24Gbit/s.
• Shunra Mobile Performance Kit - a free download that provides the ability to connect a mobile device via Wi-Fi to a PC and then impair that connection to emulate production network conditions.

Optimization

• Shunra Analytics - a solution for analyzing individual application resources and load times and individual transactions; the solution also delivers an automated performance scorecard and optimization recommendations.
• Shunra Mobile Performance Test - a free hosted service that analyzes the performance of an individual URL or compares the performance of two URLs; includes detailed analysis of page resources and load times and optimization recommendations.
