Shri Datta Venkata Sai Temple
There is Shri datta venkata sai temple in Kalloor on the way to Banisa (which is a replica of shirdi sai baba temple) and developed by Prabhakar Maharaj and with the vision of sivaneshana swamiji and grace of other saints, sags like subhababa, kakaji, anasuya matha, kalloor tata and many others.
It took years to build this temple and many devotees donated without hesitation.
A Temple trust started a committee and they started many things like Annadanum for old age people (who are over 60 yrs) Started school for children not to go to other village for studies. Started college too for not to stop the youngsters from their studies. Introduce many opportunities for all ages by providing work for them. Provided many scholarships for students who are interested in further studies. Purchased lands to provide agricultural for formers.
It is a huge task of build the temple and also the maintenance.
When Prabhakar maharaj enter in that village there was nothing but few rocks and a small temple. there was no support from villagers at that time. he was have only one strong thing that is his hope and strong will. and now today the temple is everything. Prabhakar maharaj enter into that village because of the order and future vision of Sivaneshana Swamiji who is the Guru for Prabhakar maharaj.
At first there were only a few followers when they are new to that village. slowly they improved in each area and they developed into a huge temple. But Prabhakar Maharaj died on 19th of August 2009. He lived and dedicated all his life for the temple and Baba. He suffered from kidney failure for past 7 yrs. and survive and struggled and finally met the soul with god.
He used to perform Annadanum for the entire village on the festival occasions like guru purnima, ramanavami, datta jayanthii, sankranthi, ugadi, diwali, and many other festival occasions. with out hesitating with out lack of food with out compromising for anything. there are many volunteers for every part for cooking, for cleaning, for [...], for arrangements.
Datta Jayanthi is a biggest festival celebration happens every year at the time of December on full moon day. it considered as the birth of Shri Datta (coronation of lord bharma, vishnu and shiva). At Kalloor they use to start arrangements before Nine days. there is a Nama kreethana (chanting Sai baba's name), Parayanum (holy books regarding Datta, sai and others), Homum or gyunum, prayers, and in the night there is a hari katha and on final day there is an orchestra for which they used to pay for them a lot. All this happens for not less than 1000 to 5000 people everyday along with breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner with desserts on each meal.
From 2-3days before final day there come huge crowds from many places from Hyderabad, Mumbai, Dehli, nagpur and many other places where ever the devotees are. It has to be seen - cannot be described in words.
