Shotobudo-ryu
Shōtōbudo-ryū The Shotobudo-ryu is a school of Karate, developed from Shotokan karate and kobudo by Ninot.
School Shotobudo develops the use of weapons in kobudo karate shotokan. This style is a new form of Karate-do, a model combining karate and Kobudo. The 'Shotobudo (松涛松涛) is a martial art developed in the late 20 century by P. Ninot born 1957 in Semur-en-Auxois (France). This method reveals the common logic between different techniques of unarmed combat and weapons with (Kobudo). The integration of kobudo weapons to the movement of karate, requires the practitioner to apply the whole body. This helps optimize power and efficiency of the weapon used. The technical repertoire is based on the technique and kata of Shotokan, the fact of integrating weapons katas multiplies the possibilities of interpretations in bunkai. The limits of the interpretations are gestures of respect kata studied. Practitioners wear a white kimono karate, with red initials Shotobudo. For the belt, the practitioners use their ranks following the same color belt in karate.
Study
The Shotobudo technique combines the techniques of karate Shotokan (feet, fists, knees, hands, elbows ,) keys, projections, and technical arms of Kobudo. The system uses the Shotokan kata by introducing weapons D 'Okinawa, long stick, tonfa, bokken, etc.
Education
The goal, to maximize the learning technique based on capacity.
Competition
It is not a necessity but it is largely seen as a stage for the construction of the person. In this respect, P. Ninot considers the major competition in the development of a practitioner, so he encourages followers to practice as much as the martial side of the gamesmanship. Currently, there is not yet pure competition Shotobudo, but the federation organizes competitions and kata fighting in individual and team practice and each licensee may participate.
The practice of karate Shotobudo
- For children (6 to 11 years): psychomotor development through learning and fun sport of Shotobudo (foam weapons).
- For adolescents (11 to 15 years): physical construction and social learning through sport Shotobudo and the moral values of karate.
- For adults (16 to 40 years): optimization and maintenance of physical potential by learning Shotobudo.
- For seniors (from 40 years): maintenance of the potential physical Shotobudo learning, practice of milder forms, to "improve the collection, extending the agility and mobility practice.
- Please note that through the use of weapons of Kobudo, women and elders are also very effective in confrontations against opponents younger and in full vigor of life.
Organization
Since 2000, P. Ninot, organizes training courses in Shotobudo. Whereas the Ninot Shotobudo as an extension of the study of karate Shotokan, all the dojos practicing this style can create a section Shotobudo for the execution of kata and bunkai with weapons Kobudo including the long stick (bo).
