ShiChiya
ShiChiya Ultimate (japanese ; Shichiya Kyūkyoku) is a free download computer game designed by the game creator Akumai (アカマイ). It was designed by using the software ''RPG Maker VX Ace and released in March 2014 for the Windows operating system. ShiChiya belongs to the survival horror game genre. It can be downloaded for free in English.
Features
The game belongs to the survival horror game genre. The game takes place in modern day japan. In this game you will travel across various hell worlds riddled with puzzles, secrets and many mazes. The game features some audio changes in the character's dialect, and adds a new scene in the "Ultimate" version of the game.
Gameplay is of many monsters and creatures the player needs to escape, and needs to complete various tasks within the hell void. ShiChiya features horrific atmosphere with a variety of music and areas. The player must do things such as unlocking doors, chests and gates, escaping mazes, and finding hidden artifacts.
The player controls his/her game character via keyboard and mousepad. As a save point a floating orb can be encountered at various places of the game.
Plot
You begin as a girl named Izayoi Izaki, and you have just came home from school. Izayoi is happy she has moved on from high school and is ready to begin her adult life. She returns home to find her mother cooking. The Two exchange talk about school and their deceased grandmother.After the mother congratulates Izayoi on her success, she tells her to tell her sister the good news, which she does. The sister, Kanna, is a very happy, cheerful little girl. She tells Izayoi good job and tells her mom needed something from the basement. Izayoi goes down to the dark basement and retrieves a medicine bottle that was inside a box, and is ready to go back up when she overhears her father returning home. Excited, Izayoi rushes up to see her father. As dinner is laid out, Izayoi tells her father of her success, and the father replies she did great, and that her Grandmother, whom gave the family great wealth,would be proud. The family then goes to sleep. In the middle of the night, a sound awakens Izayoi and goes around the house to find out where the noise came from, she soon heads to the basement, which is riddles in blood and bones. Horrified, Izayoi explorers further until she is warped to an unknown area. Distressed further, she learns she is in a maze, and soon finds out that the maze is haunted by horrific demons. She soon escapes from the maze, and it is learned it was all just a bad dream, and is awakened by her mother. The first day has ended.
As the mother wakes up Izayoi, Izayoi is glad to be awoken, and her mother promptly replies that nightmares are never real, and asks Izayoi if she could get her some vinegar, which she agrees to. Izayoi then goes to the General Store and picks up what appears to be the last bottle the store had of vinegar, and then goes home. Izayoi then notes she is still sleepy from before, even though she woke up exceptionally late. She goes home and gives the vinegar to her mother, who notes her tired appearance and says she should get some rest. Izayoi then goes to sleep. At 4:00AM, while everyone is asleep, the camera shows the entire house at night, with a very eerie theme playing. Soon the camera shows the basement. After a short pause, a Black Orb appears out of the hole in the basement. The camera follows the orb through the basement, which eventually makes its way through the house. It is then seen heading towards Kanna's room, whom was woken up by this strange entity. She asks what the entity is, and the scene fades to black. The second day is finished.
Izayoi wakes up three hours later, and states she had a good nights sleep.She leaves the room and is approached by her father, who says today is church Sunday, and that he's glad shes already dressed. As Izayoi is ready to follow him, she notes a strange feeling in the house, which she soon disregards, and leaves, a view of the house is seen, and a foreboding noise is heard. You soon walk to church, and sit down amongst other people. The father then says to give thanks to their Grandmother for their wealth, and they pray. They were at the church for about 5 hours before heading home. As they arrive home, the mother and father, along with Kanna, who says she didn't get a good nights sleep, says Izayoi should rest, because shes been feeling extra tired lately. As Izayoi falls asleep, she is woken up by a scream, she rushes to the living room, where the mother states Kanna is missing, Izayoi, terrified notes that its 3:00AM, and wonders where Kanna is at this time. The mother says that the father is out in the woods is looking for Kanna, and Izayoi follows. When Izayoi gets deeper into the woods, Kanna is found. Izayoi speaks to Kanna, and notes that even though her father searched long before her, he was nowhere to be found, Kanna remains silent. As Izayoi asks what has happened to her, a demonic whisper and a monstrous growl roars, knocking Izayoi unconscious. She then awakens in hell warped version of modern day japan, she enters her house, the door now just a hole in the wall. The house is empty, no one is around. When she gets to the basement, she meets a mysterious man. The man tells her that he is there to help, and that her family was whisked away to hell itself. She asks who is the man, and he replies that he cant properly explain that to a human. He then says for her to rescue her family, she must go to hell to get them back, which she does.
As Izayoi wanders through the first hell layer, she finds multiple red orbs, which were used to open the gates leading to the second layer. As she enters the second, ice covered layer, she finds an unopenable door. She soon discovers a pond, which she enters and leads her to an icy maze. Shortly after escaping that maze, she finds the maze she was trapped in during her nightmare, soon, she goes back to the front area of the maze, and is soon zapped back to the normal houses' basement. She soon discovers no one is there.
Izayoi goes to the forest and goes to where Kanna was last time, but is teleported to an underground hellish area filled with lava. After leaving the area, she finds her father, speaking to the mysterious man. The Father's name is revealed to by Ryoku, and the mysterious man's name is Charleston. Charleston says that they were deceived, but that he couldn't explain yet, and thus, he sent Izayoi to the place where her sister was trapped. As Izayoi finds Kanna, she is relieved she is still alive. A menacing growl is heard, and Charleston soon appears, saying that the being who made that noise, doesn't "want his guests gone so quickly". He soon teleports them all back to where Ryoku is. Ryoku is glad Kanna and Izayoi are safe, and vice verse. Ryoku, however, is displeased that his wife, who's name is revealed to be Yukami, isn't there with them. Charleston soon says that Izayoi will have to find her, much to Ryoku's discontent, and Charleston says he will explain everything once the family is reunited. Izayoi was then teleported to an unknown dungeon, where charleston chose to talk with her in private. He explains that he sent Ryoku and Kanna back to the house. He soon says Izayoi must find her mother on her own. Charleston then vanishes.
Izayoi leaves the dungeon, and soon finds herself back at the ice layer. She is then reminded that Charleston told her how to open the door, which was previously unopenable. She soon opens the door, and is given a warning from Charleston how dangerous that realm is. She then enters the Black World. After exploring the black world, she discovers a tunnel which leads to a dark underground cave, eventually, she finds a key, which leads to a room with a candle and a hole. Seeing as its too dark in the hole, Izayoi brings the candle into the tunnel, which is inhabited by seemingly immobile monsters. She leaves, and finds her mother. The two exchange conversation, and are suddenly sent back to the house. Izayoi has left hell.
Soon, it is revealed the whole family is reunited, and is back home. As the family exchange hugs, Charleston tells them to listen, as he has something important to say. He says that an individual made a deal with a demon, and that deal was great wealth, in return for the young soul of Yukami's youngest daughter, Kanna. Charleston soon revealed the person who did this was named Rinnian, and was the Grandmother the family received wealth from, to their great shock. Charleston then says for them to rejoice, as they are safe, and then leaves. The family then sorrows over the events they experienced, and the secrets they learned, but soon, they decide to put the past behind them. Ryoku tells Izayoi that its been a week, and that Friday, the day after, was the last day of her high school life. Kanna decides to sleep with the parents, and then Izayoi soon goes to sleep. This ends the sixth day.
Izayoi is then seen heading to school very early. She soon meets her teacher, who notes she is always early and is a grade A student. Izayoi apologizes for her week long absence, but the teacher says for her not to worry. The end of school hours is seen, and Izayoi wonders how to celebrate, she is greeted by her two friends, who says they will hold a party for her, which she agrees. She heads home to tell her parents about the party, which they agree to. Izayoi then leaves the house, and the parents go to their room to watch a TV show. The scene fades out, and a noise is heard. Izayoi is seen later at the party, and her friends congratulate her on her achievement. As her best friend tells her that her entire life is set out, Izayoi thanks her. It got late, and the party ended. Izayoi is going home.
Izayoi leaves her house, its dark outside, and very silent. She soon finds her way home and enters. The scene fades out, and escalates 5 minutes after she entered the house. Izayoi is heard asking herself why multiple times, and her family is telling her to calm down, Izayoi is worried about the disappearance of her sister, and she blacks out, the scene fades to black.
Soon, Izayoi regains consciousness and is greeted by Charleston, who says the organization he works for wants to seal the demon permenately, which works for Charleston and the family, and says they will now get Kanna back for good. Charleston sends Izayoi and her family to the Black World, for one final trip through hell.This is the seventh day.
Soon, after completing various tasks, they make their way into a large red building, and Izayoi notes the end is near, and their journey will end and they will find Kanna. They meet Charleston who soon says they got there faster than expected. Ryoku ponders where is the demon, and more importantly, where is Kanna. Charleston then says for them to go downstairs where Kanna is being held while Charleston interrogates the demon, and warns the family not to leave without him, because it is dangerous downstairs, filled with demons. Charleston vanishes, and the family heads down for Kanna.
The family finds Kanna, and is extremely happy. Soon, Ryoku notices Charleston still hasn't appeared. A thunderous roar shakes the area, and the family panics. The area turns pitch black, and Ryoku says for everyone to stay calm. Charleston tells them to calm down, that he is only communicating to them telepathically, and says the demon is trapped, but so is he. Charleston then says that a teleportation zone is up ahead,but they will have to escape themselves, with the many demons outside.The family says to each other "I love you", And prepares to escape. They leave the dungeon.
The moment they left, they were being chased by hellish monsters. They ran as fast as they could. The area shook and tore itself apart as the family ran from the demons. Monstrous and terrifying screams were heard. Eventually, just as the family were about to collapse, they made it to the teleportation zone, and returned home. As the family stand in shock, Ryoku says he cant believe they made it. Izayoi says she cant take much more, and decides to go to sleep. Kanna decides to sleep with Izayoi. Ryoku and Yukami exchange love words, and go to the room together. The house is shown, and words are heard. Charleston says alone, that the family is safe for the time being, and he doesn't doubt, not even alittle, that the family wont need his help again. He then says farewell to Ryoku, and he vanishes. The screen fades to black.
Background
ShiChiya :Ultimate Takes place in the time span of seven days. During these seven days the main storyline takes place. A previous version, ShiChiya: The Black World, was updated to Ultimate, which features bug fixes and major Graphical changes. The author, Akumai, created this game out of inspiration from a youtuber named Markiplier, and from other games such as The Witches House.
Sequel
ShiChiya's sequel, called Kairo, is in the makings by the creator, Akumai. The game is set to release early summer.
