Sharokina Hasso
Sharokina Hasso ܫܵܪܘܿܟܝܼܢܵܐ ܗܵܨܘܿ (Assyrian Christian, born in Chicago, Illinois) is an Assyrian American television personality, Actress, Model, and American Singer. She hosts the Assyrian Around The World Television program that has been airing for the past 22 years in Chicago, IL. She also starred as Aushurina in the Assyrain Movie, Akh Min Khimyani as well as a role in the film Cost of Happiness. She has hosted several Assyrian events and has also done minor modeling. Sharokina also sings in the american language and has released her single High Heels.
Early career
Sharokina Hasso has been in the Assyrian public eye since the young age of 5 when she was featured in the Say No To Drugs Documentary produced by Samir Bahi of The Ashur Drama Group. Since then she has been featured in the Assyrians Around The World Television Program. At the age of sixteen Sharokina was a contestant in the Miss Millennium Assyrian Beauty pageant and was first Runner Up next to Winner Anita Younan.
Career
Sharokina began officially hosting the Assyrians around the World TV program in 1999 at the young age of 16. She then became well recognized in the Assyrian community worldwide for her charismatic character on Television. She hosted many Assyrian Pageants presented by the Assyrian Media Center. In 2002 She starred in the first full length Assyrian film "AKH Min Khimyani" http://www.atour.com/finearts/docs/20030717a.html that was premiered to the assyrian communities worldwide.
In 2007 she released her first single Let's Go on her official myspace page. Sharokina's music was sang in the English language. The song gained recognition globally and Sharokina was featured for her music and career in Coexistence Magazine, including an 8 page spread and interview that created controversy among the Assyrian community for their beliefs. Despite the controversy, Sharokina continued to release music including her song High Heels that is on Itunes and several other music sharing networks.
