Shane Conaway

Shane Conaway (b. July 16, 1973, Muskogee Oklahoma) is an American Guitarist.

Education

Conaway attened the University of Central Oklahoma from 1991 to 1997.

Career

After attending University, Conaway performed with several jazz groups including Slide Hampton , Phil Woods, Bruce Forman, Claudio Roditi, Clark Terry, Stanley Turrentine, Brian Bromberg, Michael Fienstein and has toured the world performing at venues such as the North Sea Jazz festival and throughout Asia, mostly in Japan and Korea where he has a strong following.

Conaway switched to performing Americana and Country music. Conaway has toured with Ty England and as a member of Garth Brooks group for 8 years before landing a prestigious gig with Katrina Elam. He has also toured with Keith Urban and played with was Johnny Rodriguez. During that time he also opened or played with many country legends such as Hank Williams Jr. and Willie Nelson.

Conaway has been featured on the Grand Ole Opry and the televison shows GAC and CMT.

Since 2005, Conaway has been concentrating on his family and 4 year old daughter and performing locally in the Oklahoma City with his Jazz group "The Jazz Company" and doing session work in Los Angeles and Nashville. Conaway has played on numerous nationwide jingles including McDonald's, various film scores, and has been a first call session guitarist.

2009 will mark the release of his solo record 4 years in the making. Conaway also has several short video and sound clips demonstrating several music equipment manufacturers products available on YouTube.
