Shambhu Pokharel
Shambhu Pokharel (born September 1983) is a Nepali entrepreneur, business executive and political figure. He is best known as the Global CEO of CEO Club Global and was recently appointed as the President of Tesla Group Europe (a Czech-based technology firm, distinct from Tesla, Inc. in the U.S.). In early 2026, he transitioned into Nepali politics, running as an independent candidate for the House of Representatives.
Early life and education
Pokharel was born in the DolakhaDistrict of Nepal. He pursued his higher education in management and economics, eventually earning a PhD. Before entering the global business arena, he worked as a journalist in Nepal, where he developed an interest in the intersection of policy and economic development.
Business career
CEO Club Global
Pokharel serves as the Global CEO of CEO Club Global, an international business networking and leadership organization headquartered in New York. Under his leadership, the organization expanded its footprint to over 100 countries, focusing on facilitating strategic partnerships, investments, and public share offerings for mid-to-large-scale enterprises.
Tesla Group Europe
In July 2025, it was announced that the London Chapter of CEO Club Global acquired an 85% stake in Tesla Group Europe, a long-standing technology and energy company based in Prague, Czech Republic. Following the acquisition, Pokharel was appointed President of the group. He has publicly stated his goal of transforming the company into a "multi-billion-dollar gigafactory" and a hub for industrial innovation in Europe. Other Roles World Trade Group Nepal: He serves as the Executive Chairman, focusing on bringing international investment to Nepal. Startup Hub Nepal: As Chairperson, he oversees the Nepal chapter of the Startup World Cup, facilitating local entrepreneurs' participation in global competitions in Silicon Valley. Asian African Chambers of Commerce and Industry: He has served as the head of the Nepal Chapter.
Political career
In late 2025, Pokharel announced his candidacy for the 2026 Nepalese General Election. He ran as an independent candidate for the Kathmandu-1 constituency. His platform, titled the "Trillion Dollar Nepal Campaign," advocated for: Transforming Nepal into a "trade bridge" between India and China. The "Cable Car Project" as a solution for urban transit and tourism. Economic reforms aimed at raising Nepal's per capita income through digital transformation and infrastructure. While his campaign gained media attention for its ambitious economic roadmap, he was not elected to the seat, which was won by Ranju Nyupane of the Rastriya Swatantra Party.
Personal life
Pokharel is married to Karuna Kumari Kandel. He resides in Kathmandu but travels extensively for his roles in international business management.
