Shadman Zafar
Shadman Zafar (born May 12, 1971) is the Chief Digital Officer (CDO) at Barclays group.
Zafar joined Barclays in March 2012 as Managing Director - Digital and Mobile for Barclays Retails bank. Before joining Barclays Zafar was the CIO for Verizon. He also served as CTO for Verizon.
Zafar holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics and computer science from Ohio Wesleyan University and has worked in MIT Media Lab and AI lab for postgraduate work in neural networks. Zafar is ACTIVE in technology research groups nationally and internationally, including IEEE and WWW Consortium. He researched neural networks at GTE Labs and also researched sociological impacts of emerging technology trends on Contemporary society.

Recognition
In 2005, he was named to the CIO Magazine’s “Ones to Watch” honorees. He was part of the CIO's elite 2005 “Ones to Watch” list of 33 IT professionals who are judged to have the potential to be chief information officers.
