Sergio Bambaren
Sergio F. Bambaren (b. December 1, 1960, Lima, Peru) is a writer. He is noted for his love of the ocean, unknown HORIZONS and for his books related to surfing, dreaming and journeys in a metaphorical context.
Life and work
After high-school, Sergio Bambaren leaves for the United States, where he becomes a chemical engineer and a marketing expert. Then, after a short return to Peru, he establishes himself in Sydney, Australia.
A dreamer with a developed sense of adventure, like his characters, Bambaren takes a trip around the world. On a pine-beach, in Portugal, he has a revelation - he discovers the deep meaning of life. At the same time, he befriends a dolphin. This encounter was the inspiration for his first novel, "The Dolphin. Story of a Dreamer", which he published at his own expense and became a blockbuster, translated into 25 languages and sold in 1,500,000 copies. The book bears a very strong resemblance with another talking-animal inspirational metaphor, Jonathan Livingston Seagull, a story written in 1970 by Richard Bach AbOUT a seagull who flew for the sake of flying rather than merely to catch food
An expert surfer, Sergio Bambaren's great passion is the Ocean. He is a vice-president of the Peruvian eco-friendly organisation Mundo Azul (Blue World).
