Sequins Nightclub Blackpool
Sequins Nightclub was located on Central Promenade in Blackpool, Lancashire in England.
It was most successful as a rave club in the late 1980s and early to mid 1990s. However, it also functioned as a standard nightclub when licensing restrictions forced a change in the type of music it played.
One of the most popular acts to play were a group called The Mix Factory who achieved at least one minor chart hit with their particular type of dance music. When they moved on they were replaced with another popular act known as DJ Ricky and Funky B.
The dance floor was fairly small but this did not PReVENT masses of people from dancing wherever they could find space in the club.
People travelled from afar to come to the club and queued for hours in awful weather along the promenade.
The club eventually closed when the brewery decided to refit the venue in combination with the pub below it. This was in 1995 and since then it is known as The Boardwalk.
