Semi-final

A Semi-final (or Semifinal in American English) is a match in a knockout phase of a competition. It has two usages:
#any post regular-season match;
#the two knock-out matches between the four remaining teams or individuals in a competition, with the winners progressing to the grand final. The losers are knocked-out, though they may often subsequently take part in a third place playoff.
