Sean Weir
Sean Weir is a Canadian lawyer and political candidate in the 2019 Canadian federal election
Career
Weir was called to the bar in 1981 after graduating from the University of Windsor. After graduating he began working for and was named a partner of the firm Borden & Elliot. In 2000 he aided in the merger of Borden & Elliot along with four other firms to create Borden Ladner Gervais, which today is the largest law firm in Canada. In the same year he was named the National Managing Partner as well as CEO of the firm and in 2018 he was name Vice-Chair of the firm.
In 1991 Weir was on the Board of Directors for Halton Healthcare, an organization that governs three hospitals in Oakville, Milton and Halton Hills. In 1997 he was named Chairman of the Board for the Oakville Hydro Commission. In 2000 he resigned from the Oakville Hydro Commission and took a position on the Oakville Hydro Corporation for seven years on the board of directors with the first two serving as the Chairman. While there he helped invest over $100 Million to install fibre optic cables in the area.

In 1991 Wier was elected to as a city councillor to the city of Oakville where he served for 6 years. As a city councillor he sought to lower taxes as well as secure funding for the building of the Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.
Federal Politics
In 2018 Weir was named as the Conservative Party of Canada’s candidate for the riding of Oakville North-Burlington.
