Sean Ramsay
Sean Ramsay (born 1973) is a notable American filmmaker who has made both documentary and feature films, including Victory Day which debuted in American theatres in 2009.
He grew up in Northern California, and attended the University of California, Berkeley from 1987 to 1990.
Ramsay was a successful journalist for working for Reuters in China and Russia from 1989. Excelling as a war correspondent, he worked in many hot spots during times of war including Tiananmen Square, Afghanistan, Chechny, Iraq.
In his the feature film "Victory Day", an action-thriller that deals with the rise of the "oligarchs" in Russia after the fall of the Soviet Union, Ramsay's drew on his experience as a journalist in Russia during the chaotic 1990s, where he covered economic and political stories for Reuters and other news papers and magazines.
The film, starring Russian actress Natalie Shiyanova and Milan Kolik, won awards for the best political film at a Los Angeles film festival, and an audience award in Seattle.
His other films include, "Across China" 1988, "Picture This" 1990, "Timur's Song" 2004. Ramsay works as Producer, Director, Writer and Actor.
