Scott Jackson Wiley

Scott Jackson Wiley is an American orchestral and operatic conductor. Wiley currently holds the positions of music director of the South Shore Symphony, Regina Opera, and Centre Symphony. In addition to his conducting posts, he teaches conducting in preparatory division at Mannes College The New School for Music in Manhattan.

Biography

Wiley has studied privately with several conductors, including Edoardo Müller of the Metropolitan Opera and La Scala, Fiora Contino of the Illinois Opera and University of Indiana, and Jackson Wiley of Butler University and the Indianapolis Philharmonic. He has formally studied at the Pierre Monteux School of Conductors with Charles Bruck, as well as at Mannes College with Michael Charry, former director of the Nashville Symphony. Wiley is an opera and diction coach and has a concert career as a classical guitar recitalist, soloist, and chamber musician in addition to his conducting engagements.

Scott Wiley's past positions include conductor of the Greenwich Village Orchestra, Inwood Opera, Delaware Valley Opera, Mannes College Opera, Moravian College, Ensemble for Contemporary Music, Roosa School of Music, and many others. He has been a guest conductor of the Bronx Symphony, Louisiana Philharmonic, Indianapolis Philharmonic, Juilliard Symphony, Lafayette Symphony, and many others. He has traveled to Italy, Spain, Israel, Ukraine, and Peru.
