History

Scott Holden began showing MusicAL aptitude at a very young age. By age four Holden displayed a love of singing, spending hours in his room singing along to the 45 rpm records his parents had gotten him. In fourth grade, Holden tried attending guitar lessons with his brother, but he could not focus. His mother who always said Holden had, "ants in the pants" decided to try drum lessons and it was a NATURAL fit.

Holden got his first drum set in 1983, while in 8th grade. He played with high school friends, until he joined his first band in 1986. It was a hardcore punk band entitled The Water Resistant Kangaroos. The band play fast, sloppy, puck/hardcore music.

It was not long before Holden outgrew the style and became more interested in the spirit of bands that hailed from the 60's. Bands that would experiment with sound and music. He would form a band with Tim Steward (guitar and vocals) and Brad Lynch (Bass) called the Dead-Beats. The name was derived from the two bands that were the trio's bigger influences, the Grateful Dead and The Beatles. However, the Dead-Beats never made it far. The band spent many hours writing and experimenting musically together, but Steward had a sudden religious experience, and as a result vowed he would no longer play "Rock and Roll" music, or any electrified instruments. This pronouncement was first met by laughter and disbelief by Holden and Lynch but Steward's RESOLVE did not waiver, and the band parted ways.

Holden would bounce in and out of bands, until summer of 1989 when while hitching a ride home from a local Pizzaria, Holden would be picked up by his neighbor, Keith Zuccolo. By the time Zuccolo dropped off Holden, the two had decided to start a band. Holden would hang up his sticks and do something he had always wanted to do, provide lead vocals. Zuccolo would provide the guitar. Holden had a friend that played bass, Keith Had a friend who played drums. The band would become Prozak.

Holden would sing in Prozak from 1989-1996 when the band broke up. He would sing with them again from 1999 - 2001.
