Schwoogie

Schwoogie is a mildly offensive racial epithet used to refer to an individual of African ancestry. It is probably a Portmanteau word combining Schvartze'' (a Yiddish term for African American) andBoogie'' (a reference to African-Americans who played or danced to Jazz and Swing music).

This term was originally coined on the American East Coast, possibly Boston or New York, to refer to destitute African Americans who served in the American Armed Forces during the Vietnam War era. It has since been extended to mean any individual of African descent regardless of occupation or age.
