Schwartz Brothers Restaurants

Schwartz Brothers Restaurants was founded in October 1970 with the opening of The Butcher Restaurant in Bellevue. Some of their retired concepts include The Sandwich Shop and Pie Place, Schwartz Brothers Restaurant and Delicatessen and Benjamin’s. In 1987, the Schwartz Brothers formed a partnership with Gretchen Mathers, an icon of the Seattle restaurant and catering scene. This partnership yielded Gretchen’s Shoebox Express and the Schwartz Brothers Bakeries.

Schwartz Brothers Restaurants currently owns and operates a number of full service restaurants and food service companies primarily in the greater Seattle area. These concepts include Daniel’s Catering, Daniel’s Broiler Prime Steaks and Chops in Bellevue, Leschi Marina and South Lake Union, Chandler’s Crabhouse, Spazzo Italian Grill & Wine Bar and Revolution Cafe at Experience Music Project (EMP), Atrium Café at Seattle Design Center, Gretchen’s Shoebox Express, and Schwartz Brothers Bakery in Seattle and Vancouver, Washington.
