School of Communication Arts

The School of Communication Arts (SCA) is a two-year proprietary vocational school located in north Raleigh, North Carolina. It is a private, for-profit school.

The School is often referred to as the "Digital Circus" due to the three multi-colored domes that make up its campus. The school offers courses in Digital Filmmaking, Digital Art & Animation, Digital Media Arts and Digital Audio Production & Design. Having small class sizes compared to large universities, SCA allows for a more intimate learning environment.

Graduates of the school have gone on to work with such companies as Industrial Light and Magic, DreamWorks and Red Storm Entertainment.

The School contains a top of the line audio and video theatre, sponsored by JBL. It is one of the only two located on the East Coast of the United States.

The School is fully accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the Council on Occupational Education. The School is licensed by the North Carolina State Board of Community Colleges, and is also authorized by the University of North Carolina Board to confer Associate in Applied Science degrees.

Unfortunately, the school has a history of promising degrees to students that do not exist, and other practices that have made it the target of several lawsuits.

This school is not SACS accredited.
