Scartini scar cream

Scartini is a Centella asiatica extract-based scar serum that is produced and trademarked by BinBeauty, LLC, based out of Philadelphia. It was developed by Dr. Shareef Jandali, a chief plastic surgery resident at the University of Pennsylvania, in conjunction with Erin Elmore, celebrity personality most known for her participation on Donald Trump's reality show The Apprentice, Season 3. Scartini claims to be based upon an extensive scientific literature search which showed that most of the common ingredients that are frequently in scar creams have actually been shown to have no effect or even a deleterious effect on scar maturation and final appearance. In a recent review in a leading Plastic Surgery journal, Centella Asiatica was shown to be one of the only proven ingredients to help in scar maturation and final scar appearance. Scartini is the only scar product on the market to come in a glass bottle with a roll-on applicator.

ACTIVE Ingredients

Centella Asiatica extract is derived from the Centella Asiatica plant, which is found in Southeast Asia, parts of China, and Madagascar. The principal chemicals in the extract, asiatic acid, madecassic acid, and asiaticoside, have been shown to aid in wound healing in a large number of scientific reports. These chemicals have been shown to stop inflammation, decrease redness, accelerate the maturation of scars, stimulate Type I collagen production, increase the breaking strength of wounds (which leads to thinner scars), and have a preventive effect on burn and postoperative hypertrophic scars.

Lychee extract is a derivative of the nutritious Southeast Asian fruit and is a moisturizing antioxidant that promotes skin cell repair.
