Technologies
LHDC
LHDC (Low Latency High Definition Codec) is a proprietary Bluetooth audio codec developed by Savitech. It is designed to enable high-resolution audio transmission over Bluetooth, offering bitrates up to 900 kbit/s, 24-bit depth, and sample rates up to 96 kHz. LHDC is certified by the as a codec.
Unlike standard codecs like SBC or AAC, LHDC delivers significantly higher fidelity, making it suitable for audiophiles and high-end audio products. It has been adopted by a variety of manufacturers and is officially supported in certain versions of Android, such as devices running Android 10 and later via the Android Open Source Project (AOSP).
LLAC
Savitech also developed LLAC (Low Latency Audio Codec), also known as LHDC-LL. This variant emphasizes ultra-low latency while maintaining decent audio quality, targeting real-time use cases such as mobile gaming and video playback. LLAC supports bitrates of 400 and 600 kbit/s with end-to-end latency as low as 30 milliseconds.
Industry alliances
Savitech is a founding member of the Hi-Res Wireless Audio (HWA) Union, an industry group promoting high-resolution wireless audio. Other notable members of the alliance include Huawei, Sennheiser, and Audio-Technica.
Products
In addition to LHDC and LLAC, Savitech designs USB audio chips and for various consumer and professional audio applications.
