Sangeetpedia
SANGEETPEDIA is the world's first ever multimedia enyclopedia in DVD-ROM of Indian music( classical, light classical, regional, folk). It showcases music from India, Bangladesh and Pakistan. It is the first attempt to bring together most of the terms used in Indian music utilizing images, audio and video files to support each term. It contains a concise definition of 1,250 terms that are commonly known and are often forgotten in Indian music. It was created by United States based Tabla exponent, Enayet Hossain and India based Sitar exponent Anjan Chattopadhyay. Sangeetpedia took 6 1/2 years to fully compile and features all the important terms of music. Sangeetpedia will be regularly updated to eventually include the 11,500 terms that have been collected. It features musicians from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and the United States.
