Sandeep Khare & Salil Kulkarni

Salil kulkarni and Sandeep Khare together form a popular band in Maharashtra (India). The duo has done many live concerts with The Title "Ayushyawar bolu kahi" (Literally meaning lets say something AbOUT life). They are popular particularly because of two main reasons first being the meaningful lyrics and second being tunes which are very close to classical Marathi music.Sandeep Khare mostly write the lyrics and has also published a collection of poems. The duo has published five albums so far 1. Divas Ase ki, 2. Ayushyavar Bolu Kahi, 3. Naamanjoor, (2005) 4. Saang Sakhyaa Rey (2007) 5. Aggobai Daggobai (2007)...(Baalgeete) The rise in popularity of the duo is also attributed to the fact that there are no formal playing groups publishing their work consistently and apart from the exception of some albums like 'Garva' by Milind Ingle, mostly the concentration of singers was either on folk music like 'lavni' or 'bharud' or 'powada' or 'bhaktigeete' where as the USP of Sandeep Khare and Salil Kulkarni's music is that it is appealing to the youth because it's written by youth, for youth.

They are primarily ACTIVE in Maharashtra, India. Their public performances are jam packed with audience across the age groups. Sandeep was felicitated with the Punya Gaurav Puraskar on 12th March 2007 for his contribution towards arts and culture.
