The STEM Village
The platform was co-founded by Sammie Le Sommer, Brynley Pearlstone and Matthew Sinton in 2020 with the aim to challenge heteronormativity and provide more opportunities to queer people from wider scientific backgrounds to showcase their research. The name is inspired by the gay villages which served as community-building sites. The organisation runs seminars and conferences on the range of STEM topics.
