Sam Neves

Sam (Samuel) Neves is a Pastor of the Seventh-Day Adventist church.

He is currently the serving Pastor at Wimbledon International Seventh-Day Adventist Church (WISDAC) in London, UK.

Originally from Brazil, the son of Nerocy (a retired Police Colonel) and Regina Neves. He moved to the UK to study as a teenager and stayed to complete his ministerial studies at Newbold College. His Masters thesis was on the spiritual messages that could be elucidated from The Matrix series of films. As an intern Pastor he served as Youth Pastor for Holloway Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

Role in Adventist Media

  • He currently serves as Media Director for the South England Conference.
  • Presenter for internet TV program "The Dark Room" which invites non-Christians to discuss the moral/philosophical issues raised by popular books/films
  • One of two lead Adventist presenters (with Pastor Richard DeLisser) on the Revelation TV channel on British Sky Broadcasting from May 2011. This is the first time Adventists have broadcast their own programmes on mainstream media in the UK. "The Dark Room" is to be part of the initial broadcast programming.
  • Influential in the establishment of a number of new media ventures by the Adventist Church in the UK, notably the establishment of an Adventist record label "EdgeMusic" which released its first Albumn "The Greatest Gift" for Christmas 2010, with a run of 5000 copies. and the UK Adventist TV company "EdgeTV" in 2009/2010.
  • Pastor Neves is listed as being one of the most frequent Adventist users of Twitter.
  • Has been responsible for promotion of an i-phone app for the Seventh-Day Adventist Hymnal, the recognised book of hymns used at Adventist Churches world wide

  • Pastor Neves was one of over 67,000 signatories to the Westminster 2010: Declaration of Christian Conscience
  • Appeared on the BBC One TV Programme "The Big Questions" on the issue of "Is there evidence for God?" (Answering questions as part of the studio audience) He challenged people to not just to look at if there is evidence for God's existence but to ask what that evidence suggests God is like.
