Sally Bishai
Sally Bishai is an Egyptian American writer who has covered Egyptian politics and issues, Egyptian American identity, the plight of the Copts and Arab-American representations; her journalistic work and op-eds have been widely published on English-language Western, Egyptian and Coptic websites and newspapers.
Her scholarly publications focus on gaming, identity, arranged marriages, sexuality and the Middle East. Her Master's thesis has split into the self-published books Mid-East Meets West and Date Like An Egyptian. She is editor of the independently-published electronic and print X Culture Magazine, which was founded in 2004.
Bishai holds an MA in Communication Art from the West Florida University and is a doctoral candidate at Florida State University. Her research interests are in communications theory.
