Ruvane Kurland

Ruvane Kurland (born July 19, 1978 in Burlington, IA), is a singer/songwriter from Ohio (originally Council Bluffs, IA), who formerly played in the band, Six String Ride. Kurland's song "Broken Down" is featured on the WGN America show, Around the World for Free, and "I Don't Know," was featured on the Chicagoland Musicians Compilation CD 2004 released by Sammary Studio. 1 He has released four solo studio albums, one studio album with Six String Ride, one live tour documentary, and one live album. Kurland was chosen to perform for then-presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton 2 for a rally in Council Bluffs, IA in 2007. From 2004-2007, Kurland performed as part of acoustic-rock duo, Six String Ride, with singer/songwriter, Steve Wierman.

Kurland has appeared on KEZO-FM, Omaha, NE on the Todd-N-Tyler show 4 times, the Steve King show twice on CD105.9, and once on 89.7 WMSU. He has also made multiple appearances on 89.7 The River, 91.1 WDBX, and 88.3 WZRD. Kurland has performed with Mango Jam, Soul Farm, Rob Bonaccorsi (Freddy Jones Band), Rick Recht, and Tim Mahoney 3. Guest musicians Brian Fechino (Pat McGee Band) and Jimi "Jazz" Prescott (formerly of G. Love and Special Sauce) performed on Kurland's 2009 Life in 360°4.

In 2007, Inheritance Valley Vineyards, Cobden, IL developed a sweet, white, table wine in Kurland's honor, calling it "Ruvanesque". 5
