Rocco Napolitano
Rocco Napolitano a.k.a. "Remo" a.k.a. "Rocky" (born May 13, 1972 in Greenpoint, Brooklyn) is a Gambino crime family mob associate and convicted [...] incarcerated at Moore Haven Correctional Facility in Moore Haven, Florida.
Biography
Rocco Napolitano was one of the three sons fathered by the powerful Brooklyn, New York capo Dominick Napolitano. Rocco adopted the nickname "Remo" which is an old Italian abbreviation of the name. Rocco was closer to his brother Aniello Napolitano than his brother Peter Napolitano. Dominick was not close to his sons, but took care of them financially and their mother constantly. Joseph Pistone would later say that he cared more for his prized messenger pigeons that his three sons. There father was also a notorious womanizer who cheating on their mother. Aniello had his father and an uncle from his father's side, Carmine Napolitano actively involved in the Bonanno crime family. In 1981 it was discovered that Joseph Pistone, a FBI Special Agent had infiltrated the Greenpoint, Brooklyn street crew of his father, Dominick. It was considered bad blood lineage by fellow mobsters. (His father was subsequently executed following the investigation into the Bonanno crime family that year. After being rousted by the Lucchese crime family, Genovese crime family and Colombo crime family Aniello and Rocco left Peter in Greenpoint and moved to Miami, Florida to become involved in the [...] trade. That is where Aniello met Frank Abbandando Jr. After moving to Miami, Aniello, seemingly the more intelligent of the two struck up a relationship with Gambino crime family associate Frank Abbandando Jr. and enbarked in the sale of steroids in the Miami-Dade County area where they attracted the attention of the local authorities. Rocco is suspected of partaking in the disappearance of two [...] trafficking gang members who disappeared after they were arrested with his brother Aniello.

In September 1995 parts of his brother Aniello Napolitano's dismembered corpse washed up on South Beach, Miami. Aniello's mobster companion Frank Abbandando Jr. was a suspect but quickly ruled out by police. On December 22, 1995 Rocco Napolitano, dressed in a black track suit with a matching balaclava ran over the then 60-year old Frank Abbandando Jr. as he crossed Biscayne Boulevard in front of the Party Girls [...] bar. Rocco then stepped out of the car and shot Fingers, a number of times in a very horrific and public [...]. Rocco Napolitano is alleged to have told police, "I'm the one that shot him" when the police arrested him shortly afterwards, telling them it was revenge for [...] his brother Aniello. A [...] for which Abbandando Jr. was never implicated in, or linked to. Rocco was sentenced to twenty five years, or a life sentence for the blatant ruthless [...] of Frank Abbandando Jr. Frank's body was shipped back to Ocean Hill, Brooklyn for burial by family members.
Life In Prison
Rocco Napolitano was serving his time for the [...] conviction of Frank Abbandando Jr. at the Moore Haven Correctional Facility in Moore Haven, Florida As of July 2004. In January 1999 Rocco was moved into federal custody and was housed at the Federal Detention Centre in Miami, Florida. Prior to June 18, 2001 Rocco entered into a negotiated plea agreement that the state of Florida would reduce the charge of first-degree [...] (premeditation) of Frank Abbandando Jr. to second degree [...] ([...]), and that Rocco would accept a sentence of eighteen years with special considerations and receive a reduction for time already served in prison.
A Witness In Jail
On February 7, 2003 he was a defense witness for cell mate George Oliver who was acquitted by a jury for allegedly beating a corrections officer who worked at the Moore Haven Correctional Facility in Moore Haven, Florida. This incident caused Rocco to have his jail sentence shortened for the [...] of Abbandando Jr. On February 14, a short time later the state violated Rocco's negotiated plea agreement by moving Napolitano out of federal custody and placing him in state custody. As of July 12, 2004 Rocco is attempting to have his first-degree [...] conviction of Frank Abbandando Jr. appealed before the United States Supreme Court on the grounds that the deal with state prosecutors for protection was broken. This has yet proved to be unsuccessful.
