Robots Live


Robots Live is a robot combat touring show. The first show was held in Whitwick, Leicestershire at the Hermitage leisure centre, on Feb 10th & 11th, 2007.

The Arena

The arena was designed to cope with the conditions of touring and the rigours of robotic combat. The stage is constructed from 24 separate floor panels with 2 layers of wood. The arena walls are built from steel box section and 5mm steel plate to contain the most powerful robots. The rig and stage are modular to allow a variety of size combinations.

The stage is surrounded by 6mm Polycarbonate sheeting, allowing clear vision into the arena while sheltering the audience from flying debris. This is supported by a 10x12 metre self-climbing truss capable of 4 metres in height. The truss supports the polycarbonate screening, roof and lighting.

2007 Tour

Whitwick, Leicestershire. 10th & 11th Feb - Over 1000 members of public attended with over 30 robots.

Midlands MCM Expo, Telford. 24th Feb - A small heavy weight arena setup for demo fights between Merlin, Behemoth and Knightmare.

The Triangle, Burgess Hill. 14th & 11th April - Over 2500 people in attendance.

London MCM Expo, Excel Centre, London. 26th & 27th May - Robots have been attending the London expo for many years, but for the first time robots were fighting at the show. The Robots Live arena was hired to stage fights between Behemoth, Merlin, Turbulence, Tornado, King B 3

Riverside Leisure Centre, Exeter. 7th & 8th July - The first robot show in the west country. With around 1000 people in attendance.

Sportspace, Hemel Hempstead. 1st & 2nd Sept - The largest robot event of the year, with over 50 robots attending.

Midlands MCM Expo, Telford. 15th & 16th Sept - Exhibition demonstrations from Merlin, Big Nipper, Knightmare & Mantis.

London MCM Expo, Excel Centre, London. 20th & 21st Oct - Exhibition demonstrations from Merlin, Big Nipper & Behemoth. The show also featured many stars from TV shows such as The 4400 and Eureka.
