Roberto Gargarella
Roberto Gargarella (born 1964) is an Argentine legal and political theorist. He is currently professor at the Universidad de Buenos Aires and at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella.
Education
Gargarella holds bachelor's degrees in law and sociology from the University of Buenos Aires (1987), a master's degree in political science from the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (1990), and two doctoral degrees in law from the University of Buenos Aires (1991) and the University of Chicago (1993). He has also pursued postdoctoral studies at Balliol College, Oxford (1994). He has been a visiting professor at University of Bergen (2003), Southwestern University (1998-2002), University of Oslo (1997), and Universitat Pompeu Fabra (1993-1999), and a visiting scholar at Columbia University (2003) and New York University (2000).
Publications
He is the author or editor of more than 25 books on constitutional theory, political philosophy, deliberative democracy and analytical Marxism, and has published numerous articles in both professional and popular journals.
