Biography
Early Life and Rapping Career
Ricky Nevon was raised in the Tri-City area of Virginia. He began rapping in high school under the pseudonym Iyce Da Kidd. He would entertain his neighborhood (Bollinger), as well as local cities and home state where his attention is mostly focused. He would later change his stage name several times (Carlos Santana, Ricky Santana) before choosing Ricky Nevon. "Growing up at home, my nickname to everyone was Santana so I would release neighborhood mixtapes under the name Carlos Santana but I switched it to Ricky because of the Latin guitar player Carlos Santana. Ricky Nevon came AbOUT because Santana wasn't as original. It's all over the place, sports, music, wrestling, etc. so I decided to go with Ricky Nevon. It's original as well as my actual name."
Enjoy Your Crack Mixtape Series
His first mixtape "Enjoy Your Crack" was released online January 2007 with little to no promotion and received moderate attention. It reached over 20,000 downloads through mediums such as Myspace, Imeem, DatPiff (later removed due to unverified uploading), and other digital websites. The lead single to the release was "Bapes" which achieved massive attention on a local level. It did well digitally as well with over 500,000 listens and over 100,000 ring tone downloads. It was also heard and received good comments from VA rap duo The Clipse. Summer 2008 dawned the release of his second mixtape "Enjoy Your Crack vol. 2" and gained similar popularity with over 10,000 downloads as well with minor promotion. It was rumored to be hosted by Nu Jersey Devil but Ricky never followed through with the negotiation.
After We [...]
In Spring 2008, Ricky released a studio remix online of The Pack's Shinin titled After We [...]. Its concept was based on Ricky having relations with females and then once they're done, telling them to catch a hike on a bus. It generated a lot of attention through the internet with over 700,000 plays on Myspace, over 100,000 on Imeem and was Ricky's only noticeable promotional track of 2008.
Legal Trouble
On Feb. 6, 2008 Ricky Nevon and 3 other individuals was pulled over in a residential area in Colonial Heights, VA. He was arrested and charged with possession of [...]. He is set to appear in court April 29, 2009. He was also pulled over the following week for wreckless driving, alcohol related where he was ordered to pay a small fine.
