Richard Yagutilov
Richard Yagutilov, Also known as YOUGOTTALOVE (Born September 7, 1976 in Russia) is a photographer and filmmaker who works in the fields of advertising, music, fashion, and portraiture and is known for his stylized and colorful imagery.
Early life
At 2 years old Yagutilov migrated with his family to Israel where he grew up until moving to Brooklyn, NY where he developed his early passion for films. In 1990 he moved to Toronto,Canada (where he currently resides).
A Self Taught photographer, by the age of 13, he would develop and process his own film. By 16, Richard's skills were being contracted out by various local music artists. At 17 Richard dropped out of high school and moved to Israel to be a photographer.
Approximately a year later Yagutilov returned to Toronto to pursue film studies at Humber College of Applied Arts. He directed and produced 2 short films during this time both of which won awards at various festivals but were not well received by the college alumni do to their content and delivery. Career
Yagutilov has several short films credited to him ("Hate", "Numb", "CoffeeShop", "Park Pleasures") as well as several music videos for urban artists. (Kardinal Offishall, Brass Munk, Tebey).
Yagutilov worked with Canadian Hip Hop Artist Kardinal Offishall on his 2008 album Not 4 Sale. He is credited as photographer and Cover Designer for the artist's barcode concept album cover. Richard also worked with pop star Lady Gaga as videographer for her Canadian club tour "video diaries".
Yagutilov's work has been described as a surreal Assault on the Senses. His use of color and CONTRAST as an added character to his images.
