Rex Riot

Rex Riot, born Nicholas Rex Valente, is an electronic music producer. He primarily produces music of the dubstep genre, and is widely known for his remix of Kanye West's "All of the Lights", which he produced with Infuze. He currently has releases under Heavy Artillery Records, a label that boasts dubstep producers such as Flinch and Run DMT, as well as other releases under Nom Nom Records and Stainless Digital.

Rex Riot's career as a main stream electronic musician began with DJ Neekola's debut commercial house album Playtime in 2010, on which he was a co-producer and had a remix of the title track. Playtime quickly gained local, and later international success, and was eventually signed to Nom Nom Records.

Later, in 2011, he began experimenting with dubstep in response to suggestions made by his colleagues in other genres. Though he was made aware of the genre years earlier through a childhood friend visiting from Atlanta. Since entering into the dubstep music scene he has produced a multitude of original tracks and has made popular dubstep remixes of songs such as Mannie Fresh's "Real Big", and Kanye West's "All of the Lights" (as mentioned previously). When asked to describe his music he says that it is "a sum of the MusicAL influences of my life, no matter the genre."

Rex Riot is easily recognized by his use of an astronaut theme evidenced by a NASA spacesuit which he wears while DJing. He uses the spacesuit because "it rules". He can also be seen wearing a gas mask and his work is often driven by [...] themes, as can be seen on the forthcoming promotional artwork for his EP, Luv Machine, which will be released in November 2011.
