Rex regi rebellis

Rex regi rebellis is a 2003 black comedy directed by Jimi Wikström, and starring Kaj Stenberg, Robert P. Olsson and Robert Johansson. Produced and distributed by BigBellyFilm.

Plot

For some people in our big world is just hard to exist. Klark is one of these people. He is has an underpaid totally lame work, he has a mean boss, rotten co-workers and a lousy car. One day he is fired and then he just take a stand. He will not take this crap any more. Klark becomes a man he never thought he could be. He is now about to avenge his situation.

Production Notes

  • "Rex regi rebellis" is latin and means "the king is rebellious towards the king" or "you are your own enemy".
  • One of the producers, Ulf Norström, found the name for the movie, in a dictionary.
  • The first person that was ask to play the roll of Klark Klarhagen was Björn-Erik Karlsson.
  • There are two kings standing on a chessboard in the dream sequences. They are referring to the title of the movie, "Rex regi rebellis" (the king is rebellious towards the king).
  • After reading the script, Kaj Stenberg was more interested of playing the role of Tor Condrup, Klarks boss, instead of Klark.
