Redwood Creek Wines

Redwood Creek Wines were introduced in The Spring of 2002 by the E & J Gallo Winery, and are inspired of California. Redwood Creek Winemaker Cal Dennison is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area and has been making California wines for more than two decades.

Under Cal’s supervision, Redwood Creek wines have won dozens of awards including the Critics Challenge International Wine Competition Critics Gold for the 2005 Pinot Noir, Wine Enthusiast Best Buy Award in February 2007 (84 Points) for the 2005 Sauvignon Blanc, and a Gold “Best of Class” award from the San Francisco International Wine Competition for the 2005 Pinot Grigio.

Varieties

Redwood Creek Wines are available nationwide a suggested retail price of $6.99 to $9.99 for a 750-milliliter bottle. The wines are also available in 1.5 liter bottles. Redwood Creek’s packaging is best known for the “adventure tool” corks each containing suggestions on how to be transformed into a unique outdoor device. • Pinot Grigio
  • Sauvignon Blanc
  • Chardonnay
  • Pinot Noir
  • Cabernet Sauvignon
  • Merlot
  • White Zinfandel

Awards

  • Second fastest growing California popular wine brand
  • Awarded over 300 medals since 2002
  • Second ranking Pinot Noir in the entire wine category

Partnerships

Redwood Creek Wines is a sponsor of the Explorers Club — a nonprofit educational society dedicated to preserving the instinct to explore, serving as a gathering place for explorers and field scientists worldwide since 1904. Through this sponsorship, Redwood Creek has supported the Exploration Fund that awards grants to graduate students of 21 years of age or older who conduct research focused on preservation and conservation of the environment.

In 2004 and 2005, The Explorers Club and Redwood Creek partnered to launch a nationwide series of free events for the public called “Taste of Adventure” that featured a tasting with exotic foods, such as Scorpions with Endive and Herb Cheese, paired with the wines of Redwood Creek.

In 2006, they launched the “Off The Eaten Path” event series, which traveled to four cities across the country. During these free events, the public had an opportunity to attend a foraging hike in downtown city parks to discover some of America’s strangest foods, then pair them with Redwood Creek wines.

Redwood Creek and the Explorer’s Club will launch a new tour in the fall of 2007 called “The Culinary Revival of Great Expeditions Tour”, a national series of food and wine events that will feature lectures from known experts on the foods that sustained some of the world’s greatest voyages including those of Sir Ernest Shackleton, Lewis and Clark, and Marco Polo.
