Real News (Now Defunct as of 10/22/2014) – formerly known as Real News from The Blaze – is a news talk and political discussion show on TheBlaze presented in a roundtable format. The show currently airs on weeknights from 6:00-7:00 PM, US Eastern time. Real News also brands TheBlaze news content distributed by radio, website, or mobile device venues.

Placed in the 6:00 PM time slot (traditionally the hour that networks and cable news channels focus on hard news journalism), Real News is TheBlaze's evening news program focused on current events and political issues, directly competing with flagship programs on networks, like ABC World News, CBS Evening News, and NBC Nightly News, as well as the CNN's The Situation Room and the Fox News Channel's Special Report with Bret Baier. (The third cable news channel, MSNBC, airs political commentary and opinion show PoliticsNation with Al Sharpton, rather than hard news journalism, during this time slot.) The show was formerly hosted by Amy Holmes, who now hosts "The Hot List" on TheBlaze.com, is a substitute anchor for news updates on TheBlaze TV, and an anchor/reporter on TheBlaze Radio News.

The regular members of the roundtable are:

  • Buck Sexton
  • Will Cain
  • Tara Setmayer (Former Communications Director, US Rep. Dana Rohrabacher)

The fourth and fifth seats at the roundtable are often filled by one of the following individuals:

  • S.E. Cupp
  • Ellison Barber
  • Charles C.W. Cooke
  • Anthony Randazzo (Director of Economic Research, Reason Foundation)
  • Matt Welch

Outside guests other than the roundtable five are brought in for some segments.

Broadcast headlines service

Real News as well brands TheBlaze hourly headlines segments on TheBlaze Radio Network and on streaming webcast or cable television; anchor for its radio segments is Robyn Walensky; and, for its televised segments, Amy Holmes. On June 4, 2013 it was announced Laurie Dhue will host nightly news updates as primary anchor.
