Raza Anjum
Raza Anjum (born 31 January 1985) is a Conservative councillor in the town of Saffron Walden in Essex.. He was the youngest British Asian councillor for the Conservative party when elected in May 2007. His father, Sarfraz Anjum is a former Mayor of Saffron Walden and is a serving town and district councillor. Raza Anjum and Sarfraz Anjum are the first father and son to serve as councillors in Saffron Walden.
Education and career
Anjum was educated at Friends School Saffron Walden which was founded in 1702. He studied at Lancaster University where he carried out his LLB Law Degree. Anjum has also undertaken an LLM in Corporate and Commercial Law from University College London.
After graduation, Anjum worked as a parliamentary researcher to a Shadow Minister for Home Affairs. He was later employed by the Conservative Campaign Headquarters (CCHQ) as a Policy and Press Advisor to the Shadow Home Secretary and Shadow Attorney General. Anjum has also worked with leading international law firms and is currently pursuing his legal career.
