Ray Dunakin

Ray R. Dunakin III is the author of a series of popular Shareware adventure games published for the Macintosh in the 90's. The majority of the games take place in a fictional realm called Ray's Maze and incorporate expansive worlds, colorful characters, imaginative plots, and a large dose of satire and humor. The games revolve around having the player explore the many different worlds in Ray's Maze, solve puzzles, collect treasure, and avoid harm. The games were very popular for their open-ended and non-linear gameplay, beautiful black & white graphics, and creative storylines.

Nearly all of Dunakin's games were built with the World Builder adventure creation system while his colorized version of Twisted was built with Autumn Software's Adventure Creator software. Ray had planned a completely 3D-rendered color game called MorphWorld in 2001 although it has been put on hold indefinitely. Dunakin's games do not run natively under the current Mac OS X operating system, however they can still be played on modern Macintoshes by using the mini-vMac emulator.
