Rava Rajputs
The Rava (or Rawa) Rajput is a sub-group of The INDIAN Rajput clan also categorized as high cast rajputs as its members claim descendancy from different ancestors and dynasties. and are associated with another 6 of the 36 Rajput clans: the Gahlot, Kushwaha, Tanwar, Yadu, Chauhan and Panwar. Most members add the title Singh & Verma to their surname; others who belong to Tanwar clans of the Chandar Vans, identify themselves with the names Tanvar, or Mogha.The "Mogha" are descendents of great Rajput King "Amoghpal Singh Tanwar". The clan also subdivides into castes on the basis of social acceptance.
Rajputs were an historical warrior clan of Rajasthan whose descendants have migrated widely throughout other Indian states, particularly to Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujrat, and Madhya Pradesh, and to Delhi and southern Indian cities. Rawa Rajputs in New Dehli are concentrationed in its parts that were once independent villages: Naraina, Khampur, Basai Darapur, Titarpur, Nangal, Sagarpur Jeevan Park, and Wazirpur, Pallam Village. Other concentrations occur in the district of Bijnor, U.P. (84 villages), Khatauli in Muzzafarnagar, U.P. (27 villages), Meerut, U.P. (3 villages), the Baghpat, U.P. district of Western Uttar Pradesh (24 villages), and the Saharanpur District.
History
The Tanwar Rajputs ruled Delhi from 736 to 1192, their first emperor being Anangpal Dev Tanwar (736-754). Initially Anagpur was the Tanwar capital, but Anangpal Dev Tanwar the Second (1051â1081) relocated it to Dhillikapuri near Yoginipur and Mahipalpur. The last Tanwar emperor, Tejpal Dev Tanwar Diveetiy (1192-1192), was overthrown by Kutubudin Ahabhek in 1192.
In 1009, the Tirtya Rajput Sangh was formed by Jaipal Dev Tanwar with the help of other Rajput clans and Chatriya kingdoms. This army, the Rajput Waahini Dal, or Rawad, supported by Kumarpal Dev Tanwar (1021â1051), was built to fight Mahmood Gajani. The Rajputs who constituted this army became known as Rawa Rajputs.
