Rani Khanna
Filmmaker Rani Khanna was born in France to a French mother and an Indian father, and her work was greatly influenced by her parents' cultural diversity and by the fact that she was raised in London, in a home that was also the studio of her artist father.
Before setting out to make films, Rani was a painter. She studied Art at The City Lit, London, and at the Sorbonne in Paris. It was by chance that she became involved in a docudrama production working as an art director. This experience inspired her to study film at the University of the Arts (London college of Printing), where she graduated in 1995 with a degree in Film & Video, specializing in documentary production and directing.
Since then, Rani Khanna has made a number of documentaries and experimental films. At the same time she has been teaching video and documentary production to adults and young people, as well as working on community based projects.
