Dr. Ramesh Gupta of Kurukshetra University has been awarded the prestigious"RASHTRIYA GAURAV AWARD" by noted voluntary organisation of New Delhi, India International Friendship Society for his contribution to the field of education. Besides, a certificate of excellence was also presented to him by the Chief Guest Dr. Bhishma Narain Singh, Former Governor of Tamilnadu & Assam. The prestigious award was presented to him at the annual function of the organisation held yesterday in New Delhi which was attended by a number of Members of Parliament, Industrialists, Social Workers and intellectuals. The occassion coincided with a National Seminar on Economic Growth and National Integration.The organisation has already honoured with this award to personalities like Mother Teresa, Vijay Mallya,Dev Anand, Sunil Dutt, Dr. K.N. Pathak ,Former V.C., Hon'ble Governors like Genl. K.V. Krishna Rao, Justice Fathima Beevi besides several others eminent personalities. Notably, Dr. Gupta has to his credit Degrees like B.Sc., M.A.;LL.B.; ,Ph.D.;D.Litt.; Diploma in FRENCH,He has successfully guided 47 Research Scholars for Ph.D.and M.Phil.Degrees.He is Hony.Advisor,American Biographical Institute,U.S.A..He has been teaching PG Classes at Kurukshetra University for last 27 years and earlier at M.D. University Rohtak. He possesses Double Doctorate Degrees and already stands honoured by Haryana Sahitya Academy and American Biographical Institute (U.S.A.) He wrote 14 books on Hindi Literature,Winner of Three state Awards besides RASHTRIYA GAURAV AWARD. Presently,working as ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR,P.G.DEPTT.of HINDI, KURUKSHETRA UNIVERSITY, HARYANA,INDIA.
The Executive Council of Kurukshetra University has restored the rights and full salary of Dr Ramesh Gupta, a reader in the Department Of Hindi of Kurukshetra University ab initio.Claiming this here today, Gupta, son of the former vice-chancellor of Kurukshetra University, late Dr Ganpati Chandra Gupta, said In fact, AbOUT five years ago, on December 31, 2002, He was falsely charged with demanding bribe from a research student for certifying that his work was complete.
However, during the trial of the case before a special court in Kurukshetra, as the facts poured in, full story was unfolded and it turned out to be a case of professional rivalry where a fellow member of the faculty allegedly used the research student to PReVENT Gupta from becoming professor and chairman of the department of Hindi.
It was also proved before the court that the complainant, a research student, was in fact having his own grievance against Gupta as the latter had already reported to the university that the student was not doing his job satisfactorily.
Under the Prevention of Corruption Act, the Special Judge in its judgement held that Gupta had been falsely implicated. In view of the special court judgement, the Executive Council of Kurukshetra University restored the rights and full salary of Gupta ab initio.
Dr. Ramesh Gupta, who has a teaching experience of 30 years, said he had no grudge with anybody, including those who were responsible for falsely implicating him in a criminal case in December 2002, when his promotion to the post of professor was due under the career advancement scheme (CAS).He had to suffer a lot of mental torture and harassment. Kurukshetra University had also deprived him of various university assignments as well as his rights attached to the post of reader discriminating him from other teachers of his status and position since then, added Gupta.
Dr.Ramesh Gupta in the past even moved to high court and defended at supreme court of india,where later decided in his favour.Here is only a summarized version of the order pronounced="The University did not implement the resolution of the Executive Council and the employee Dr.Ramesh Gupta approached the High Court for issuance of writ of mandamus to the University to follow the necessary directions contained in the resolution and the High Court issued the necessary direction. The University has approached the Supreme Court aggrieved by the High Court order. There seems to be no infirmity with the direction of the High Court as once the resolution of the Executive Council is not being annulled by the Chancellor in exercise of his powers, then the benefits flowing from the resolution can be enforced in by a court of law by issuing a writ of mandamus to the University. The special leave petition is accordingly dismissed."
Dr.Ramesh Gupta has given a new angle to Global Recession.Reports are pouring from various parts of the world that various big companies like citi group ,BANK OF AMERICA etc are trying to use impact of global recession as false excuse to get rid of their lazy and not so much hardworking employees. Similarly,inspite of big profit margins many FMCG Co. have increased selling price of their products taking excuses of global recession. ThusDr.Gupta says G-20 Nations while planning to curb global recession, will have to distinguish between concocted impact and genuine impact of Global Recession.
Dr.Ramesh Gupta has also welcomed the decision of Amitabh Bachchan not to receive honour from Australian University.According to Dr. Gupta,this way we shall be able to convey our solidarity with Indians residing in Australia.
