Raj Senani
Professor Raj Senani (born 14 March 1950), is an eminent academician and researcher in the field of Electronics Engineering. Apart from teaching various courses in the areas of Electronics and Communication Engineering, he has made original and novel contributions to the fields of Analog Integrated Circuits and Signal Processing in the course of his research work. He is currently also the Director of Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT).

Prof. Senani has 34 years of experience in conducting as well as supervising Research in the areas of Analog Integrated Circuits and Signal Processing since 1977. He has authored/co-authored 120 research papers-all in reputed International Journals. Teaching, Curriculum development and Laboratory development

He was responsible for introducing a number of courses in various UG and PG programs at M. N. R. Engineering College, Allahabad and NSIT. In 1989, he played in a key role in upgrading the syllabi of all existing BE programs at NSIT and developing the new BE (Instrumentation and Control Engineering) program. As Dean, PG Studies and Head Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), he led a team of faculty members in formulating and initiating new M. Tech. programs in specialized areas of ECE, Computer Engineering and Instrumentation and Control Engineering.
He was Faculty-in-Charge for the Basic Electrical Engineering Laboratory and Applied Electronics Laboratory, at M. N. R Engineering College, Allahabad, India. He established the `Linear Integrated Circuits' Laboratory at Delhi Institute of Technology, India and ‘Analog Integrated Circuits Lab’ and ‘Analog Signal Processing Research Lab’, at NSIT.
Administrative responsibilities
Prof. Senani has held many positions of responsibility at Departmental and Institutional level since 1990. He has served as the Head of various Departments at NSIT and has also acted as the Dean, Research, Academics, Administration and Post Graduate Studies. He has previously held the position of Director DIT/NSIT on two occasions (1996–1997; May 2003–January, 2004) and is currently the Director, NSIT from October 2008 till date.
Education
He obtained his bachelors degree from Harcourt Butler Technological Institute ( HBTI ) Kanpur and masters in Electrical Engineering from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT), Allahabad University, India. While working as a lecturer the same college, he obtained his Ph.D. in the same subject in the late eighties.
Professional career
Soon after finishing his Ph.D., he was promoted to the post of Reader at MNNIT, Allahabad. In 1988, he joined as Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at DIT, then at Kashmere Gate, New Delhi, India. It later shifted to Dwarka and was renamed as NSIT. He became full Professor in May 1990.He is presently working as the Director of NSIT.
Awards and Honours
He is a Senior Member of IEEE (USA) and Fellow of Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) India. In 2008, he was elected as a Fellow of National Academy of Sciences (NASI), India for contributions to the field of Analog Integrated Circuits and Signal Processing and Analog VLSI Circuits and Systems.
