Prolifik (rapper)
Michael Joseph Garofalo (born January 9, 1985) better known by his stage name Prolifik is an Albanian-American rapper and radio personality on Kiss 95.7 FM in Hartford, CT. In addition, he co-produces the nationally syndicated radio show The Keith Sweat Hotel.
Prolifik's lyrical content is a mixture of first-hand experiences, universal themes, and hypothetical situations. Although favoring introspective tracks, he has occasionally released records that are more commercially acceptable and radio friendly.
He released his debut album, Verbal Thoughts, in January 2005 and followed up with Breakin' Dollars in June 2007 (both on indie label Monark Records). Prolifik won the award for "Most Original Male Solo Artist" in August 2007 at the Underground Music Awards held in NYC. In December 2007, he advanced to the finals in the Apollo Theater's legendary competition, Amateur Night at the Apollo.
