Progreso Networks

Incorporated in 2004, Progreso Networks is a Valued Added Distributor providing Telecom and Networks Access Solutions to partners and end users in Singapore and Southeast Asia.

The organisation has five areas of operations:

  • LAN/WAN Connectivity Solutions for Ethernet & Legacy Communication Networks
  • Timing and Frequency Synchronization Solutions
  • Industrial Ethernet & Wireless Solutions
  • IPv6 Services: Network Auditing, Migration & Assesmment
  • Training (see below)

Progreso Training

Progreso Training is the only IPv6 training centre in Singapore that is entitled to the status of Authorised Courseware Centre, Authorised Certification Distributor and Authorised Training Center from IPv6 Forum. Currently working with other ICT training institutes in Singapore, Korea, Philippines and Indonesia to provide the IPv6 Forum Certification programme.

Initially focussing on IPv6, they have expanded to offer training in other IT areas.

In [2011], Progreso was awarded the IPv6 Competence Tender by IDA to develop 2000 IPv6 engineers in Institutes of Higher Learning in Singapore.

The training programmes include:

  • IPv6, accredited by the Singapore National Infocomm Competency Framework and the IPv6 Forum
  • Enterprise Architecture (including TOGAF).

  • Business Analyses
  • Product and Marketing Management
  • Governance & Security
  • International Standards Organisation (ISO 27001, ISO 20000, ISO 22301)

IPv6 Forum (Singapore Chapter)

Progreso is the home of the Singapore Chapter of the IPv6 Forum. It organises and maintains activities by the Chapter, primarily advocacy of IPv6 adoption. The Chapter is ACTIVE, with cooperation from other bodies such as ICANN, ISOC, APNIC, and IDA.

Progreso, on behalf of the Chapter, also organised the World IPv6 Day and World IPv6 Launch Day in 2011 and 2012, respectively.

Partly due to these efforts, in July 2014, Singapore was honoured by the Jim Bound Award, "achieving high IPv6 penetration rates, coming in top rank in the Asia Pacific region and being amongst the top ten globally".
