Procter & Gamble Professional
Procter & Gamble Professional (PGP) is a business unit within Procter & Gamble (P&G) that manufacturers cleaning, building maintenance, and laundry products for business and professional use. It also provides technical field support and service installation of automated dosing / dilution systems.
History of PGP
After the Civil War, P&G began selling candles to hotels and restaurants. In the 1920s, when P&G moved into shortening with its Crisco brand, restaurants began to order it for their cooking use. Hotel demand for Tide and other laundry products followed in the 1950s. In 1982 the company created a ‘professional sales’ business, called Foodservice and Lodging Products.
It was renamed Commercial Products Group (CPG) in 1995, and then Procter & Gamble Professional in 2002.
P&G Professional currently operates in North America, Western Europe, Central and Eastern Europe, and Asia.
