Problems 2 - Gangaa

Problems 2 - Gangaa is a Tamil-English short film directed and written by Vijay. Vijay plays all the lead roles from the short film with alter egos such as, Gangaa, Makkalz, Mahaa and many more. The soundtracks from the film, Kanchana 2, has been used in this short film together with, Baby Got Back by Sir-Mix-A-Lot. The film began production in the late month of July 2015 and was released on August 9, 2015, to celebrate the 50th birthday of Singapore. This short film was a sequel to Vijay's previous short film, Problems 1.

Plot

Makkalz has just told his dance teacher, Mahaa, that he has decided to quit his job. Angry and depressed, Mahaa decides to seek help from a devil, Gangaa. Together Mahaa and Gangaa hope to destroy Makkalz's life with magic spells. Their plan ultimately fails and are instead rewarded with their own deaths. Makkalz discovers the exploits of Mahaa from his friend who heard the commotion between Mahaa and Gangaa. The film has also foreshadowed a sequel. According to Vijay, The Title is confirmed to be Thala Mattum Thalapathy (English: Leader and Commander).

Production

Markkaa has been thinking after The Release of the film, Problem 1, if he should make a sequel to the film. He originally had two scripts for the sequel to Problem 1, which the ending was Markkaa quitting his second job to pursue something else in life. The first script, was the one which has been already released where his previous job came hunting down for him. And the second script, 'Thalia Matt-um Thalapathy" which the script has yet to be told. The director never written the script for "Gangaa". He filmed it and acted on the spot which was surprising. For the 16 minute short film, it took him 45 minutes to fully film the film. It took him 1 hour to edit the film. The scenes were all shot from his house. He filmed his movie in Singapore. Markkaa promised that there will be dubbing for future releases of the film to ensure better quality for the film.

Release

The film had been delayed twice with the initial releases being dated back to August 1, 2015 and July 29, 2015. The film has been rated G.

Marketing

A leaked poster for Problems 3, Thalia Matt-um Thalapathy has also been circulating that Makkalz was looking at his father which had a short trimmed white/aged hair with a metal star chain and glasses. There was also money falling from above the ceiling in the leaked poster. It has been confirmed by the director. The "Thalia" being the alter ego with the short trimmed white hair and "Thalapathy" being Vi-jay/Markkaa himself.
